NEW PALTZ BON-ODORI FESTIVAL
In Japan from August 13th through 15th we observe Obon which is the Buddhist custom of remembering and reconnecting with our ancestors and family. Around that time each community gets together to celebrate Obon by dancing together.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 7th or August 14th (rain date) from 1pm – 9pm in Hasbrouck Park in New Paltz to promote WORLD PEACE / NO NUCLEAR ACTIONS with the rhythm of traditional Japanese steps.
There will be lots of food vendors, crafts, games, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese cultural presentations, folk music, and exhibitions by Green Living institutions and Peace and Anti-Nuclear organizations.
