Sensei Valiant Yeung holds the rank of Godan (Shidoin) in Ryushin Shouchi-Ryu and has been a practicing member of New York Budo Association since 2003. He began his training in Japanese martial arts because of his interest in Japanese culture and military history, but after joining New York Budo Association, he developed an enthusiasm for Japanese Swordsmanship and has since committed to Ryushin Shouchi Ryu exclusively.

In 2011, with the recommendation of Sensei Phil Ortiz, Mr. Yeung was given a teaching certificate from Soke Kunikazu Yahagi of Ryushin Shouchi Ryu, a great honor for a student committed to the lineage. For over 10 years, Mr. Yeung guided beginners in Iaido techniques, and as his students have reported, his guidance yields quality results. In addition to managing dojo affairs with senior members, he has participated in many public demonstrations of Japanese swordsmanship and sword techniques.

In his free time, Mr. Yeung enjoys basketball, riding a motorcycle and architectural studies. He is also a sake connoisseur, having sampled varieties from around the world.
