NYBA is a not-for-profit 501-c(3) traditional Japanese Sword School in NYC. The class is open to all, beginners welcome! Classes are taught by licensed (under Yahagi Sensei in Tokyo) instructors. We teach a specific style of kenjutsu called Ryushin Shouchi Ryu (柳心照智流). This is quick draw style of sword that was taught to bodyguards during the Edo period.

– $25 IN-PERSON/$5 ONLINE
Please wear gym clothes and have a willingness to learn.
Please stretch before class.
*If you don't own a practice sword, you can use any object to hold – a wooden spoon, stick, lightsaber, dowel, or just use your hands (we'll show you how)
This is both an IN-PERSON and ONLINE event.
For those students taking the IN-PERSON event, you will be required to sign our legal waiver, we will email this to you when you purchase a ticket. We start all of our students with an intro class before they become full time NYBA members.
